Summary:
The Orthopedic Physician Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician in the medical and surgical care of orthopedic patients in both the office and operating room setting.
Requirements:
Education:
Skills:
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant education program with a valid Physician Assistant license.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience.
Three - five (3-5) years of relevant orthopedic experience including experience assisting in the OR and caring for in-patients preferred.
Experienced PA should possess sound physical assessment skills.
Certification:
Current BLS and ACLS Essential Functions of the Job:
Takes medical histories and conducts physical exams.
Perform suturing, remove staples, place and remove splints and casts.
Orders and interprets lab and other diagnostic test(s), conducts patient follow-up as appropriate, provide consult management and patient, family, and staff education and counseling.
Manages pre-operative and post-operative patients in coordination with the supervising physician.
Monitors the treatment program of the patient to inform the attending physician of pertinent medical/surgical information.
Enters chart documentation for review and counter signature by the physician.
Serve as a primary resource for all patient care issues, including the coordination and consultation of other sub-specialists.
Assist in the planning and implementation of discharging patients, including the dictation of the discharge summaryFacilitate follow-up care Assist in surgery to include but not limited to first assist, deep and superficial tissue closures, application of appliances and any other action delegated by the surgeon.
Conduct hospital rounds, and write orders.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
