Job Description:
Orthopedic Surgical Coordinator (Bilingual English/Spanish) Introduction:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as an Orthopedic Surgical Coordinator.
As a pivotal member of our healthcare facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless coordination and communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, you will serve as a bridge to facilitate effective communication with our diverse patient population, ensuring their understanding and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Coordinate surgical scheduling, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-up appointments for orthopedic procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing comprehensive information regarding surgical procedures, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care guidelines in both English and Spanish.
Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Facilitate insurance verification and authorization processes, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation are complete and accurate.
Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing necessary support throughout their surgical journey.
Coordinate with medical facilities and vendors to arrange necessary equipment, supplies, and surgical instrumentation for procedures.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information, surgical schedules, and communication logs.

Qualifications:
Fluent in both English and Spanish, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous experience in a surgical coordinator/scheduler, preferably in orthopedics.
Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of orthopedic procedures and protocols.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical coordination/Scheduling, or related field.
Experience working with diverse patient populations and multicultural environments is highly desirable.
Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical billing practices is preferred.
