A Brief Overview Responsible for overseeing and maintaining grounds/facilities including seasonal requirements, sidewalks and roadways.
This role functions as support to the Grounds Manager and performs all necessary duties as assigned.
Oversees Grounds Associates and ensures operational success.
What you will do Maintains the grounds and gardens surrounding the hospital and hospital-owned buildings as directed Operates vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, etc Maintains irrigation systems, water features etc, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring Maintains or repairs tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features Follows planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage Oversees plant maintenance and assists with planting seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and applies mulch for protection, using gardening tools Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the hospital.
Recommends projects, painting, improvements or repairs to improve appearance and efficiency Controls use of supplies, equipment and personnel to optimum efficiency Installs rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, planters, or playground equipment Observes staff at work to ensure instructions and safety rules are complied with Ensures staff are compliant with routine procedures Instructs and trains employees Performs other duties as assigned Education Qualifications High School Diploma Or equivalent Required Experience Qualifications 1-3 years Minimum two years experience in grounds and/or facilities management Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal communication, organizational (High proficiency) Time management (High proficiency) Irrigation, plant maintenance, grounds upkeep, etc (High proficiency) Holy Name is a mission-driven facility whose quality standards and philosophy are rooted in the principles of its founders, the Sisters of St.
